App basics

What OrgoMech is and who it is for.

What is OrgoMech?
OrgoMech is an iOS app for organic chemistry students and pre-meds. You draw or pick a reactant, add reagents, predict the major product, then practice ordering the curved-arrow mechanism steps — the same skills tested on exams and the MCAT.
Is OrgoMech good for MCAT organic chemistry?
Yes. OrgoMech focuses on reaction outcomes, stereochemistry, and mechanism arrow-pushing — core skills for the organic chemistry section of the MCAT and undergraduate orgo courses.
How is OrgoMech different from memorizing reactions?
Instead of isolated facts, you see why a product wins (regiochemistry and stereochemistry) and practice electron-pushing in sequence. The reaction library groups mechanisms by type with the trap answers students confuse on tests.
Does OrgoMech include a reaction mechanism practice mode?
Yes. After predicting the product, you order the mechanism steps — nucleophile attack, leaving group departure, and pi bond formation — matching graded mechanism questions.
Where can I download OrgoMech?
OrgoMech is available on the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad in the United States and other regions where the app is listed. Use the Download on the App Store link on this site.

iPhone, iPad & compatibility

Devices, screen size, and App Store requirements.

Does OrgoMech work on iPad?
Yes. OrgoMech is built for iOS and runs on iPad as well as iPhone. Many students use iPad for drawing structures with more screen space; the reaction predictor and mechanism drills work the same on both form factors where supported by your iOS version.
Is OrgoMech only for iPhone?
No. It is an iOS app available for iPhone and iPad through the Apple App Store. There is no Android or web version of OrgoMech at this time.
What iOS version do I need?
Check the App Store listing for the current minimum iOS version required to install OrgoMech. Apple shows compatibility on the product page under Information → Compatibility.

Drawing structures & reaction predictor

How drawing, templates, and prediction work.

Can I draw my own structures in OrgoMech?
Yes. The reaction predictor includes structure drawing tools — move atoms, place bonds, change elements, and use quick-start templates for common orgo skeletons. You can also start from catalog templates when you want a known reactant without drawing from scratch.
Does OrgoMech have structure templates?
Yes. Quick-start structures and catalog templates help you practice specific reaction types faster. Templates are tuned for accurate matching when you predict products and mechanisms.
How does product prediction work?
You provide a reactant (drawn or from a template), add reagents and conditions, then compare your prediction to the major product OrgoMech shows — including regiochemistry, stereochemistry, and common trap answers when applicable.
Why might a custom product diagram not appear?
Some highly custom or unusual drawings may not generate a full product diagram until the structure meets valence and matching rules. The app guides you when a heavy atom (not a lone hydrogen) is required or when the catalog cannot render a custom diagram.

Offline use & data

Connectivity expectations for study sessions.

Does OrgoMech work offline?
Core practice you have already loaded may be usable without a constant connection depending on your session and iOS behavior, but downloading the app, subscribing, and some catalog or update features require internet access. For travel or library study, open the app while online first so content and account state are current.
Is my progress saved?
Drill progress and subscription status are tied to your Apple ID and in-app account behavior as described in the Privacy Policy. For account or data questions, see Support on this site.

OrgoMech Pro & billing

Subscriptions, prices, and cancellation through Apple.

Do I need a subscription to use OrgoMech?
OrgoMech offers a free download; full access to Pro features requires an auto-renewable subscription (OrgoMech Pro Weekly or OrgoMech Pro Yearly). Prices are shown in the App Store and in the in-app paywall before you purchase.
How do I cancel my OrgoMech subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not inside OrgoMech. On iPhone or iPad: open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → select OrgoMech → Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid renewal. You keep access until the paid period ends.
How do I get a refund for OrgoMech Pro?
Refund requests are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com or Apple Support and sign in with the Apple ID used for the purchase. Weblak cannot issue App Store refunds directly.
How do I restore my OrgoMech Pro purchase?
Use the same Apple ID you subscribed with. In the app, follow any Restore Purchases or subscription prompt on the paywall, or check Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions to confirm OrgoMech Pro is active.
Does Apple Family Sharing include OrgoMech Pro?
Whether a subscription supports Family Sharing depends on how the product is configured in the App Store. Check the OrgoMech subscription details on your Subscriptions screen in iOS Settings for sharing status.

Studying for class & MCAT

How OrgoMech fits courses and exams.

Is OrgoMech only for MCAT students?
No. It is used for undergraduate organic chemistry midterms and finals as well as MCAT review. The reaction library covers substitution, elimination, addition, carbonyls, aromatics, and related topics common in U.S. orgo sequences.
What is the daily exam drill?
Missed reactions return in spaced practice until you get both the major product and the mechanism step order right. The home screen countdown helps you stay on track before your exam date.
Are there free study guides on the website?
Yes. Visit the Learn section for mechanism hubs — stereochemistry (R/S, meso), SN1/SN2, carboxylic acid derivatives, E1/E2, alkenes, Grignard, carbonyls, and aromatics. The MCAT organic chemistry pillar page has a study plan and links to every hub.
